These handicrafts utilize the hard outer shell of the magnificent coconut- turning what would otherwise be waste into valuable, artistic products renowned for their unique beauty and sustainability. Coconut shell products possess a natural grain pattern best highlighted through polishing.
Origin: Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao
- Clean coconut shell items with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust and dirt.
- Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, as they can damage the surface.
- Occasionally apply a small amount of coconut oil or other natural oil to maintain the sheen and prevent the shell from drying out.
